This week we are introducing one of our new Teacher Apprentices, Caitlin Ketterman. You may have already met her in class by now, as she is teaching alongside Carrie & Laura for a 6-week apprenticeship. She will be teaching a variety of different classes here at ISY during the program. She has already completed a Yoga Teacher Training program where she received her 200 hour certification. Below you can read on to learn more about her.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in Louisville, Ky. Now living in Corydon, Indiana.
How long have you been practicing yoga?
I am only on my 4th year of Yoga. After attending a few local classes, I was hooked! Shortly after I obtained my 200 hour certification and continue to absorb as much knowledge as I can.
What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
Pigeon pose- It feels great on my hips and it helps ground me.
What is your favorite style of yoga to practice?
It depends on my mood. I haven’t tried hot yoga but I haven’t found a style that I didn’t like!
What is your favorite style of yoga to teach? How would you describe your teaching style?
A slower vinyasa/ Hatha mix
What do you like to do for fun (other than yoga of course!)? Hobbies.
Teaching yoga at 3 different locations + being a wife and mother of three doesn’t leave much time for extra hobbies at the moment. I do enjoy a nice cup of coffee and playing cards against my husband though.
Favorite book and/or movie?
Not a movie but a show. Love the office (well at least until Michael left)
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Words you live by… (favorite quote/motto if you have one and want to share)
“Nothing can dim the light that shines from within”
Any other fun fact to share?
I’m addicted to Disney although I didn’t get to go until I was 26. I have been 5 times since and going to Disneyland this summer.
Welcome Caitlin! We look forward to seeing you more around the studio!
